Wyche Family Papers, 1714-1956

This collection contains materials relating to the Wyche Family. Collection materials are dated 1714-1956, with 1714 as an outlier and a bulk of the materials from the early to mid-20th century. Materials are arranged in 11 series:
Series 1: Manuscripts, include biographical sketches of members of the Wyche and Tillett families, lineage, and obituaries.
Series 2: Birth and Death Dates, include birth and death dates for members of the Wyche family. These documents closely mirror biographical sketches found in Series 1.
Series 3: History and Genealogy, includes ephemera, Wyche Coat of Arms, family history bulletins, diary excerpts, historical entries in the family Bible, marriage announcements, and other genealogical materials about the family.
Series 4: Newspaper Clippings, includes newspaper clippings on topics such as Wyche family reunions, obituaries, luncheons, travels, and general news about members of the family.
Series 5: Railroad History, includes information on the Raleigh & Gaston Railroad, programs, pamphlets, and short publications on local railroads.
Series 6: Correspondence, 1839-1949, includes correspondence primarily written and received by Elizabeth Jenkins Wyche, Charles H. Wyche, Cyril Wyche, P.C. Pressley, Martha Hunter Wyche, and Nettie Wyche.
Series 7: Correspondence, 1952-1953, includes correspondence primarily written and received by Ernest Sewickley, Alice Adams, Clarence A. Wyche, Marion Wyche, and C.G. Wyche.
Subseries 3, letters are dated 1952-1956 and consist of correspondence of Charles W. Allison, Sr.
Series 8: Correspondence, 1952-1953, includes correspondence primarily written and received by Charles W. Allison, Sr.
Series 9: Correspondence, 1953-1954, includes correspondence primarily written and received by Charles W. Allison, Sr.
Series 10: Correspondence, 1955-1956, includes correspondence primarily written and received by Charles W. Allison, Sr.
Series 11: Photographs, includes photographs of family homes, postcards, and family members.
