Abstract

The Boyce Family Papers is a collection of private materials chronicling the lives of James Boyce (1740-1803) and his descendants for over two hundred years. This collection contains land surveys and land records, bills of sale of enslaved peoples, wills, tax receipts, correspondence, newspaper clippings, vital and marriage records, family Bible, chattel mortgages, photographs, and other miscellaneous materials relating to the Boyce family. Materials are dated 1767-1976.
